Micro-post

I'm busy. See below for details.

Quakecon BYOC Directory Chrome Extension

Visit the Chrome Webstore to get the extension.

This is an easy-to-use extension that allows attendees of the 2015 Quakecon in Dallas to find where their friends are sitting in the massive event hall at the Hilton Anatole. Visit the official Quakecon website at quakecon.org for more information. For a full visual map search, check out http://pixel5.us/quakecon/byoc.

BigBen Quote Module

I decided that I'd like a way to dig up dirt on my comrades in IRC (even if that dirt is fake). I've never written anything in Python before... so this was different, but fun. The module has been accepted as part of the official bot, and if you want it you can grab it from the official BigBen repo. And, of course, the whole thing is open source so you can see how terrible my Python skills are.

Walls! A Roof!

The Full Stack

Is the 'Full Stack' developer a myth? And if not, can he even be defined? No. No he can't. Sorry.

Well, at least not in a concrete or traditional sense. The truth of the matter is that full stack developers call themselves full stack developers because they don't really know what name to give to what they do. We are "developers of a range of frameworks and server/client-side technologies", which is incredibly vague and just doesn't sound as cool as saying "full stack". So we continue about our happy lives pretending we are something that sounds like a diabetes-inducing menu item at IHOP because facing the truth about the things we are good at is just too hard to do.
